Hunter Schmidt with his family

September 3, 2024 · Forever seventeen

The work carries on.

In loving memory of Hunter Schmidt—son, brother, friend, fisherman, welder, and young farmer whose drive continues to move this family forward.

Hunter’s legacy

A young man built for meaningful work.

Hunter loved the kind of work that leaves something real behind. He cared about farming, welding, fishing, learning with his hands, and showing up for the people around him.

He died on September 3, 2024, at seventeen years old. No page could hold what he means to his family. This one exists simply to say his name, share a glimpse of the life he loved, and make clear that his story remains part of G7 Ranch.

A scholarship rooted in his values.

Chris and Jenn plan to create a memorial scholarship for students drawn to farming, welding, and the dignity of hard work. Details will be shared when the program is ready.

Until then, every mile outdoors, every honest day’s work, and every effort to help another young person build a future carries a little of Hunter forward.
